The draft National Standards for Disability Services are now available for comment.
The existing National Standards for Disability Services have been in place since 1993. As a result of consultation that occurred across Australia in 2010, it was agreed that the existing National Standards should be revised.
During May and June 2012 people from across Australia, including you, have the opportunity to comment on the new draft National Standards. This is a chance for people with disability, service providers and the wider community to have a say about how disability services should be provided and how they can achieve better outcomes for people with disability.
In South Australia, there are two ways to provide feedback on the draft National Standards:
1. Online survey
The survey aims to capture individual opinions on the draft National Standards. The online survey opens on 7th May until 15th June 2012 and is available on the National Quality Framework project website.
2. Written Submissions
Written submissions can also be made from 7th May until 15th June 2012. This method is particularly recommended for organisations, networks or community groups who wish to provide feedback on the draft National Standards. Written submissions may be submitted online by completing the template that is available on the National Quality Framework project website.
