Mental Health Week is annual event that asks ordinary Australians to consider their own and others’ Mental Health issues and wellbeing. In 2012, MHW will be held from the 7 to 13 October with World Mental Health Day held on Wednesday 10 October and Stress Less Day on Friday the 12 October.
Mental Health Week is a celebration of events and activities designed to increase community awareness and interest in mental health and wellbeing. Promotions in mental health centre around three key themes:
- My Community– How can we help each other? Making connections and being part of our community;
- My Support– What is your pathway to services? Find and seek assistance when you need it;
- My Wellbeing– Be aware look after your mental health and wellbeing.
In 2012 SA Health and the Mental Health Coalition invite a wide range of organisations and individuals (e.g. councils, community centres, libraries, mental health services, businesses, arts, sport and community groups etc) to develop their own goals, proposals and activities surrounding mental health for Mental Health Week.
