Social Research on Aging with a Disability

Fim Jucha, a Community Services Trainer and Informal Disability Advocate is performing Social Research into the living conditions of people who have Down syndrome; who are aged over 40 years old and have been diagnosed with dementia.

The research is targeting the question of their long term care, at this stage of their lives.

Fim is seeking answers to the following 2 questions:

  1. How many people who have Down syndrome and are over 40 years old and have been diagnosed with dementia have been placed into community housing, after their diagnosis of dementia?
  2. How many people who have Downs’s syndrome and are over 40 years old and have been diagnosed with dementia, have been placed in Dementia Specific Aged Care facilities, after their diagnosis of dementia?

If you know of anyone in either of these 2 situations you can email Fim at fim@picknowl.com.au with a short reply. No personal information is required.
