DIRC databases:

  • DIRC Directory details over 600 South Australian disability related organisations and the services that they offer. It also provides information about national disability organisations and peak bodies. DIRC acknowledges the assistance of Seniors Information Service and Connecting Up Australia in the maintenance of selected information.  The DIRC Directory is also available in print.   • DIRC Library Catalogue contains bibliographic references to over 2,500 items most of which are held in the DIRC Library. These materials are available for direct or inter-library loan for South Australian residents.
  • DIRC Journals Catalogue contains bibliographic references to selected articles from journals held in the DIRC Library. Journals are available for use in the Library.
  • DIRC Events Database contains information on coming events in the area of disability. It includes conferences, expos, seminars and general events of interest.

Other organisations’ databases:

  • Novita Children’s Services Library Catalogue and Novita Children’s Services Toy Library Catalogue: The Novita library is located on the ground floor of the Regency Park Centre, Days Road, Regency Park, South Australia, tel . 8243 8316 and is open Tuesdays  and Thursdays 8.30am – 4.30pm and Wednesdays 8.30am-12.30pm. Borrrower registration for the general Library is open to all clients, parents and carers of clients and Novita staff. Material from the Toy Library can be borrowed by parents of registered Novita clients and Novita staff.
  • Darling House Library Catalogue: A joint project of the AIDS Council of SA and the Gay & Lesbian Counselling Service SA. Resources include information relating to HIV/AIDS, gay men, lesbian women, bisexual and transgender people. Most materials available for loan by visiting the Library at 64 Fullarton Road, Norwood, tel. 8334 1606. The Library is open Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm, Saturday 2pm – 5pm.
  • Sexual Health Information Network (SHineSA) Library Catalogue: This specialist library provides a broad selection of items relating to sexual and reproductive health. The library is free to join and materials are available for direct or inter-library loan for South Australian residents. The Library is open Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm. The main library is located at Woodville GP Plus Health Care Centre, 64c Woodville Rd, Woodville SA. Contact the Librarian on (08) 8300 5312 for further information.
  • Sexual Health Information Network (SHineSA) Resource Catalogue: The Resource Centre contains a selection of videos and materials for teaching sex education. It is available to South Australian organisations that have paid an annual subscription. Bookings for resources can be accepted up to six months in advance. Forms for joining the Resource Centre can be downloaded from the resource section of the SHine SA website www.shinesa.org.au Contact the Resource Centre Coordinator for further information on (08) 8300 5312.
  • Victim Support Service Library Catalogue: VSS is an independent organisation counselling crime victims in South Australia. The Resource Centre’s books support crime victims, social workers, researchers and Victimology students. Topics include victimology, law, criminology, social Work, trauma, grief, psychology and self development. Loans are available to members.
