Resilience in Children and Adolescents – A systemic approach Workshop

Children and adolescents have varying ability to recover from difficult events or challenging life situations. Many factors are involved in creating the circumstances which foster resilient approaches to life problems, and they operate and inter-operate at the levels of the individual, the family, the school and the wider community. This workshop looks at current understandings of resilience from a systemic viewpoint, and reviews current research to provide direction to practitioners in supporting clients to develop more resilient attitudes to life’s problems.

Study on the Behaviour of Young People with Down Syndrome

An Invitation to Participate in Research

Children and adolescents aged between 10 and 15 years are sought to participate in a doctoral research project investigating the influences of social and cognitive skills on behaviour. This study will involve participants being presented with a range of different interesting tasks and activities. This study will also involve parents/guardians completing a questionnaire about their child’s behaviour.
