Online registration has now opened for Buddy Walk 2011! Be sure to register before October 1 to take advantage of the early bird registration rate.
Buddy Walk is an international walk-a-thon style event aimed at raising funds for and awareness of Down syndrome. There are 13 walks being held across Australia in 2011, with most walks coinciding with Down Syndrome Awareness Week. Buddy Walk brings together people with Down syndrome and their ‘buddies’ – everyone from friends and family to teachers, politicians and co-workers – to raise funds for education, support and advocacy programs provided by Down Syndrome Victoria.
Registration to take part in the walk is $5 per adult (persons aged 17 and under are free).

“walk a mile in my boots” is designed to build awareness of homelessness and Hutt Street Centre.

Go the extra mile by participating in “walk a mile in my boots” and supporting Hutt Street Centre with their endeavour to ensure everyone is able to get help and a warm friendly place to visit.
“Rain, hail or shine, take an hour out of your day to experience what the homeless have to do every day, no matter what the weather is like!”
Be at Rundle Park, corner North & East Terraces, 7.15am for a 7.30am start. Walk one mile along Hutt Street to Park 18, corner South Terrace & Hutt Street to receive a typical Hutt Street Centre breakfast provided by Badge.
Entry fee: $20 adult, $10 concession, $5 per child (5-12 yrs). Children under 5 free.
