SoundWaves is a music project designed to create opportunities for people with disabilities.
Soundwaves workshops provide opportunities for participants to develop skills in music performance by working with some of Adelaide’s top musicians and performers.
The last Thursday of each month features a free, community music event held at “Guthrie’s” located at PROSPECT TOWN HALL from 11am till 2pm. Monthly Events feature an integrated line-up of disability & mainstream performances & are a great opportunity to enjoy free live music, participate, & find out more about the project. Workshop participants will eventually be able to try out their skills by performing in these friendly and supportive events.
Workshops currently being held are in instrumental and vocal performance. These are held on the third Thursday of each month from 11am till 1pm at “Guthrie’s” located at PROSPECT TOWN HALL. These workshops are run by Adelaide Composer/Musical Director Robert Petchell contact 0402 429 197.
“SOUNDWAVES BEATS” WORKSHOPS
We all like to clap our hands, tap our feet or move to music – and now ‘Soundwaves Beats’ gives you the chance to do all of this and more in a one hour FREE workshop. Using hand drums, percussion instrument, our bodies, our chairs and voices – whatever feels good to use – ‘Soundwaves Beats’ will be a music jam session all to do with rhythm and beats!
This new session starting July 2012, will be held on the 2nd Thursday of each month from 11am – 12 noon, and will be led by Adelaide Composer/Musical Director Robert Petchell – with special guests from time to time. No music experience is needed, just the desire to have fun with others exploring making music with rhythm and beats
