Tony Doyle has sent us the following important message about the upcoming March MusicWorks:
Last month’s MusicWorks had a line-up of quality musicians and the audience had a great time as usual but attendance was well down on usual numbers. We know this was the first one of the year and organisations are still sorting out their programs, but the MusicWorks can only survive if organisations and support workers continue to patronise it. As you know, support workers get free entry and the modest ticket price that clients pay has to cover the venue, the musicians and sound mixing. Over the years the MusicWorks has become a vital and much loved centerpiece of day activity programs for disability communities in Adelaide, but the fact is most of our audience are unable to attend unless their organisations and carers commit to bringing them. We know your clients want to come, but the MusicWorks depends on disability organisations making it a monthly priority and commitment. Why don’t you put the MusicWorks into your diaries and programs on the first Tuesday in the month for the rest of the year? We all hope MusicWorks will be able to continue bringing quality music to our disability communities long into the future.
We look forward to seeing you all there next Tuesday.
Cheers
Tony Doyle and the MusicWorks Team
