Autism SA Family Workshops – February and March 2012

The following Family Workshops will take place at the Autism SA office (262 Marion Road, Netley) for a fee of $15 per family that will be collected on the night. To make a booking or for more information about these or other workshops please call 1300 288 476.

An introduction to Autism for families with a new diagnosis
‘An introduction to Autism’ discusses some of the common characteristics of Autism, possible causes and helpful strategies.
Dates: Monday 6th February Time: 7pm-9pm

An introduction to Asperger syndrome for families with a new diagnosis (up to 13yrs)
Focused on families of younger children with Asperger syndrome, this session describes the characteristics, possible causes and helpful strategies.
Dates
: Monday 20th February Time: 7pm-9pm

An introduction to Asperger syndrome for families with a new diagnosis (13yrs+)
Focused on families of older children and also individuals with Asperger syndrome, this session describes the characteristics, possible causes and helpful strategies.
Dates: Monday 5th March Time: 7pm-9pm

Assistive technology training workshops

The Special Education Resource Centre (SERU) has again put forward a great menu of assistive technology training workshops.

Running on Tuesday January 17, Wednesday 18, Friday 20 and Monday 23, the workshops feature such themes as Making Learning Accessible with the iPad and Digital Pens for Curriculum Access.

All workshops have limited places, so you need to book fast.

Bower Place Workshops

From Bower Place:

The next Bower Place workshop, Eating Disorders is coming up on the 5th August, 2011. Do you have staff that are interested in this workshop, or any workshop that Bower Place has delivered?

We can bring the workshop to you, and tailor it to your organisation. These can be either half day or full day, and can either be at your organisation, or you can come to our office in the heart of Adelaide.

Dance – Restless Central – Term 4

Restless Central is a series of dance workshops for young people with or without a disability aged 15 to ­ 26yrs. You don’t have to have a lot of experience to join these sessions, just a desire to have fun and meet new people in a creative and supportive environment.

When: Tuesday evenings from 5.30 -  ­ 7pm 13 October – 15 December 2009
