St Vincent de Paul Nature Retreat 2010

Come and enjoy the natural surroundings of the South Australian country side. Learn some new skills in food preparation and healthy eating. Join in and meet new friends, play games and test your skills in bushcraft. Enjoy a campfire setting and a chance to share your own experiences with others.

Open to young adults from ages 18-30.

This camp is designed for young adults who have been diagnosed with a mental illness, to gain confidence in life skills.

To give them opportunities to engage with people who have similar life experiences and be part of the process of planning the event. The camp with be held over 3 days and 2 nights during the week. A referral is required, and available by email from Denise Nou, Mental Health Programme Coordinator. Email Denise at dnou@svdpsa.org.au.

An initial meeting will be held on the 9th of September at 4:00pm at 202 Franklin Street Adelaide for all interested participants. Further meetings will held leading up to the camp and will include fun activities. There will be a follow-up meeting after the camp for all participants and volunteers to share feedback about the experience.

The camp site: Woodhouse (Adelaide Hills)

Cost: Free for up to 20 young adults

Dates: 23rd 24th and 25th of November.

Julia Farr Youth

The Julia Farr Youth group wishes to invite young people with a disability to come to their next meeting:

Julia Farr Youth are looking for young people aged 16-30 who live with a disability and are passionate about disability youth issues to come to our next meeting.

We meet once a month at Julia Farr Association at 104 Greenhill Road Unley to discuss issues which are important to young people and try to come up with ways that achieve helpful changes. We are for young people, by young people with initiative.

Our current primary focus is the design, development and implementation of a Mentor Program for children aged 11-16 years who live with a disability and the development of a photographic art exhibition on human rights for the 2011 fringe festival.

Autism SA: Win a ride in a Ford V8 Supercar!

Autism SA are holding a free competition for young people with ASD to win a free ride in a Ford V8 Supercar Ute!

Prize includes

Luxury coach travel to and from Flinders St Bus depot in Adelaide to Mallala Motor Sport Park on Thursday March 11.

Ride around the racetrack in a Ford V8 Supercar Ute for each winner and their carer.
